The New London Media app turns your phone into a place to publish, not just read. Here is how to get a release from your head to the newsroom without opening a laptop.
First, install the app from Google Play and open it. You will land on the New London Media home page with the latest stories. Tap Sign in and use your New London Media account. If you do not have one yet, you can register from the same screen.
Next, tap Submit. Choose what you are publishing: a press release, a news release, or an article. Each one has its own fields, so the form only asks for what that type needs.
Write your headline first. Keep it short and specific - say what happened, not that something exciting happened. Add a one-line summary underneath, then write or paste your body text. If your release already exists in an email or a notes app, copy it and paste it straight in.
Add a photo from your phone. Wide images work best, because the photo becomes the main picture on your release page and on social shares.
Pick a category, add up to four tags, and fill in your contact details for press releases. Then submit.
An editor reviews every submission. You can check its status any time under your own submissions in the app. Once approved, your release goes live on its own permanent, search-friendly page with a link back to your website.
Working at a desk instead? The New London Media extension for Chrome and Edge does the typing for you by turning any web page into a pre-filled submission.
